prettyPhoto and prettyBox
If you didnt see the prettyBox module we put together for the January 2009 release Canvas then you need to take a look at it. Its a beautiful way to implement a gallery uin a module on your Joomla site. There are plenty of options available fro cropping and resizing images and then displaying the original image in a lightbox. You can view full setup information on the Canvas demo site.
PrettyPhoto is athe lightbox we used in the prettyBox module. It can also be used in stand alone mode. You can see some setup and markup instructions on the Canvas demo site .
FaceBox
The microBlog module that comes with the Organica template uses a nifty little technique where you can popup the introtext and fulltext of a content item in a lightbox called faceBox. You can read more about the microBlog module here. However you can also use the faceBox script as a stand alone option. Check out the instructions below for how to go about doing this.
Panel Menu
The Organica template comes with a nifty new accordion-like panel menu that works out of the box with the extended menu module. The panel menu makes it easy to add more jquery sliding flavour to the sub pages on Organica. Check out the steps below to see how you do it.
Equal Height Columns
Organica also comes with the awesome equal heights jquery script that creates - you guessed it - equal height columns. Organica's sub template setup comes with a maximum of four columns on the sub pages. The widths of the columns are set in the template administrator and the eQual heights script ensures you that the columns are all the same height.
jTweet
In past templates we have used the very capable zuTwitter module for joomla twitter integration, but we recently stumbled upon the awesome jQuery twitter script by sea of clouds . The Tweet script has a nice range of options to personalise your twitter stream which make twitter integration into your joomla site a good deal more flexible.
Organica Themes
Organica is an essentially light design that comes with four backgrounds out of the box. On top of that the colour highlights and the colour of the folds are selectable in the template administrator and the index.php file in Joomla 1.0. Take a look at some of the variations below.

Organica Slider
One of the most striking features of Organica is the full length slider that you can see on the front page of the demo site. The slider slides up to 9 modules across the screen using some smooth jQuery transitions.
You can pretty much display anything you want in these module positions. The colour of the sliding bars are set in the template administrator in Joomla 1.5 and in the index.php file for Joomla 1.0.

IE6 PNG Fix
Organica utlises the jQuery png fix from Diller Design. Its a very handy evolution of other ie6 png transparency solutions that had limitations on background-position and background-repeat for css background images.
The belated fix is built into Organica and used to control the appearance of all transparent images for display in ie6.
Superfish Menu
The superfish menu is an easily created drop down menu. Canvas gives you the option of having a superfish or a suckerfish menu on your site. The superfish essentially enables the fade in effect and requires the jQuery library while the suckerfish menu only uses javascript in the case of internet explorer 6 and is delivered using a pure css technique in other browsers.
Micro Blog Module
The microBlog module is our own spin on the latest news module. This version of the module has been created especially for Organica as a way to show your content in a popup box using the facebox Jquery script.
