The flat view is a microblog format that gives you a nice readable display of selected content from your site.
This microblog view is a simple flat list with the option to display the date. You can also choose to launch the introtext in a lightbox as per the other microblog views.

The leading then list view displays the image and introtext from the first item in the module then displays the rest of the items in the module in a flat list. It's a great layout to use for new portals or magazine layouts where you might want to show a teaser of what's available in a category without showing everything.
